Course Goal / Objective
The aim of the course is to define the concepts of ethics, medical ethics and professional ethics, to explain the principles of medical ethics, and to analyze possible ethical problems that may arise in the care of the elderly.
Course Content
Concept of Ethics, Ethics and Morality, Professional Ethics and Medical Ethics, Deontology, Ethics and Law, Ethical Codes, Principles of Medical Ethics, Paternalism, Informed Patient Consent, Privacy, Patient Secret and Confidentiality, Telling the Medical Truth, Human and Patient Rights, Geriatrics and Ethics, Ethical Dimension of Approach to Elderly Patients, Termination of Supportive Treatments in Elderly Patients, Ethical Dimension of Medical Research in Elderly Patients, Neglect and Abuse of the Elderly
