Course Goal / Objective
To teach the chemical, physical and biological properties of honey, to transfer the quality factors and honey standards in honey, and to teach the methods of obtaining and analyzing honey.
Course Content
Nutrition of honey bees, important nectar and pollen sources used by bees, chemical and physical properties of honey. Economic and nutritional value of honey. Methods of obtaining honey, storage and preservation. Honey quality control. Honey analysis in the laboratory, Honey standard.
