Course Goal / Objective
To examine in detail the current and alternative fuels used for automobile engines
Course Content
Thermochemistry of fuels, Common Hydrocarbon fuels, Octane Number, Cetane Number, Self-Ignition, Alternative Fuels, Air and Fuel Entry into the Engine, Combustion

LO06 | Calculates air fuel ratios and air excess coefficients, calorific values of fuels, calculates constant volume and constant pressure combustion, learns to calculate adiabatic flame temperature. |
LO07 | Gains knowledge of distillation characteristics such as flash point, cold filter clogging point, which are revealed as a result of fuel analysis. |
