Course Goal / Objective
It is aimed to gain the ability to comprehend the general properties of materials for the selection of suitable and economical materials, to apply the basic principles of the test methods to be used in determining the material properties, and to comprehend the basic information about the types of materials used in construction.
Course Content
Internal structures of materials, general description of materials, basic information about atom, classification of materials according to their internal structures; Heterogeneous, homogeneous, isotropic Properties of materials, electrical, optical properties Heat and acoustic properties, mechanical properties, physical properties, chemical properties, materials used in construction, metal materials, stone materials, soil materials, wood materials, plastic materials.
