Course Goal / Objective

It is to describe the processes applied to remove suspended, colloidal and dissolved substances that can be found in the effluent of conventional secondary treatment and to give details for design.

Course Content

Understanding the pollutants that can be found in conventional secondary treatment effluent and the importance and properties of these pollutants. Understanding with which processes these pollutants can be removed, Understanding the working principles of advanced treatment methods and design and operating criteria, selecting and designing the advanced treatment method, Membrane Processes. Advanced disposal methods such as Membrane Bioreactors (MBR), Advanced Oxidation Processes (IOP), Ultraviolet Ray (UV) Disinfection.
