Course Goal / Objective

To determine heat and mass transfer in thermal energy systems, and to perform one and two dimensional heat transfer analysis for steady state.

Course Content

Convection heat transfer, conduction heat transfer, radiation, one dimensional conduction in steady state, steady state two dimensional transmission, discontinuous transmission, stability of salt water slope, diffusion in solar ponds, thermal behavior of salt water, external flow, internal flow, free convection, heat exchangers, radiation: radiation exchange between surfaces, mass transfer by diffusion, heat absorption systems in solar ponds, heat flow through liquid layers, heat distribution in solar ponds and thermal energy equations.
