Course Goal / Objective

To comprehend environmental radioactivity measurements, to give information about radiation measurement detectors.

Course Content

Radioactivity, Radiation types, Electromagnetic spectrum, Radiation measurement methods, Gamma spectrometry, High purity germanium (HPGe) detectors, Calibration of HPGe detectors, Thallium activated sodium iodide NaI(TL) detectors, Radioactivity analysis in soil, water and food, low level gamma dose measurement principles.

There is no prerequisite for this course.
