Course Goal / Objective
With this course, it will be aimed at to learn the impacts of environment and plant management on fiber development and fiber quality properties and to comprehend teh alternative management techniques for improved profitability of yield and fiber quality.
Course Content
By defining fiber quality, in terms of optimization of fiber quality properties, in field, the knowledge and techniques to develop plant management strategies will be given. As Turkish cotton are in a dynamic and competitive market and we need to ensure an ever-improving product to meet the demand from spinners. This pressure has led to fibre quality becoming just as important as yield is for maintaining the viability of the industry. Crop agronomy decisions such as choice of variety, nutrition management, irrigation management, disease, insect and weed management can significantly affect fibre quality.
