Course Goal / Objective
Ensuring knowledge of the basic methods in understanding (explaining) productivity in field crops, measuring environmental effects and the results on the plant.
Course Content
After giving information about the basic principles on which current ecophysiological research methods are based; plant micro-climate (light, temperature, humidity, wind) and measurement methods, determination of plant biomass and productivity, plant growth analysis, examination of the morphology and anatomy of the plant photosynthetic system, plant water relationships, stomatal conductivity, transpiration rate, water content and potential measurements, vegetation structure and light uptake measurements, leaf area, index measurement and calculation, photosynthesis and respiration rate measurement, photosynthesis-light, photosynthesis-carbon dioxide curves, chlorophyll fluorescence measurement, direct and indirect (SPAD and other pigments) of chlorophyll and other pigments. reflection indices) measurement, membrane stability tests, use of nitrogen, protein and ash analysis methods are explained.
