Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to provide information about physical and chemical thin film growth technologies. It also provides a better understanding of the different techniques used in the production and characterization of thin films. There will be hands-on demonstrations and experiments throughout the course work.
Course Content
This course will provide thin film deposition methods, their possibilities and limitations. Hands-on demonstrations and experiments in our Laboratories will help the participants to better understand the possibilities of each deposition method and stimulate informal discussions between participants. Essential fundamental aspects, as well as the technology of thin-film growth such as physical and chemical techniques will be performed. Thin films at nanoscale will be grown employing spin coating, electrochemical deposition, cathodic vacuum arc, thermal evaporation, electron cyclotron resonance microwave power chemical vapor deposition techniques. Variety of characterization techniques, including XRD, AFM, optical, electrical will be used and it will help to learn how to test and characterize film structure and related properties after deposition.
