Course Goal / Objective

It is aimed to develop the conceptual understanding of the students on these subjects and to identify the trends in the international literature by examining the current (covering the last 5 years) international articles published in internationally important journals on the prominent research topics in the field of science education. Thus, students are expected to see the studies that contribute to the international literature in science education, to recognize the prominent problems in the field and to determine the boundaries of their thesis topics.

Course Content

Teaching science concepts, misconceptions and conceptual change, socio-scientific issues, interest, attitude and motivation in science education, use of technology in science teaching, inquiry-based learning, cooperative learning, STEM education, nature of science, gender in science education, argumentation, world trends of science education research in the last 5 years
