Course Goal / Objective
The main goal of critical media literacy is to develop an inquiring approach in media consumption by viewers/readers. To this end, he recommends that conscious media consumption be supported by lessons in the family and in the early education system. It sets out from the principle of critically reading all the content presented in the media. Health literacy aims to adapt the principles of critical media literacy (access, evaluation, analysis and output generation) to health-themed news, programs and publications in the media. Media contents in the field of health, which are about human life and health quality, and which are gaining popularity, should act on the principle of science. Sometimes, publications that do not meet this requirement are encountered; their implementation may cause consequences that threaten human health. It is considered necessary for those who take a health literacy course for sensitive and correct consumption of these contents.
