Course Goal / Objective

To make the student aware of new technologies in automotive and their application areas.

Course Content

1-Fundamentals of internal combustion engines. 2-Characteristics of internal combustion engines. 3-Introduction to ignition and fuel feeding system of petrol engines. 4-Introduction to fuel feeding system of diesel engines 5- The reflections of flexible manufacturing systems to other areas of the automotive industry. 6- New technologies in the powertrain systems. 7- Introduction to brakeing, steering, chassis and suspension systems. 8- Midterm exam 9- Introduction to hybrid vehicles 10-Introduction to electric vehicles 11- Gasoline injection systems (L- jetronik, K-jetronik, Motronik) 12- Common-rail (common manifold) diesel injection system. 13- Variable valve timing systems. 14- Electronic ignition system 15- Introduction to engine modification 16- Final exam 17-Final exam
