Course Goal / Objective

Labour and Social Security Law course aims to provide students with the competence to analyse and apply the basic principles of labour law, rights and obligations in working life, ways of resolving labour disputes and the functioning of social security mechanisms by addressing the legal, economic and social dimensions of employee-employer relations and social security systems.

LO03 Explains labour contracts, types of labour contracts, termination of employment contract and job security, rights and obligations of employees and employers, trade union freedoms, collective bargaining agreements, strike and lockout processes.
LO04 Applies the current legislation on labour and social security law to concrete legal disputes
LO05 Analyses the role and functioning of labour law and social security law in working life.
LO06 Discusses the effectiveness of labour rights and social security services by evaluating the current regulations in Labour and Social Security Law.
LO07 Suggests alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for the resolution of labour disputes.
LO08 Explaining the functioning of the social security system and the scope of social insurance branches with examples, designs original models and strategies for social security reforms.
LO09 Applies the legislation on occupational accidents, occupational diseases and social security benefits to concrete situations.
