Course Goal / Objective
Occupational Health and Safety Law course aims to enable students to gain legal knowledge and analysis competence in the field of occupational health and safety by evaluating the legal regulations to protect the health and safety of workers in working life, the obligations of employers, responsibilities for occupational accidents and occupational diseases, supervision and sanction mechanisms within the framework of national and international legislation.
Course Content
Occupational Health and Safety Law course comprehensively deals with the legal regulations to protect the health and safety of workers in working life. Within the scope of the course, the basic principles of occupational health and safety, the obligations of employers and workers, legal responsibilities related to occupational accidents and occupational diseases are examined. National and international occupational health and safety legislation, inspection mechanisms, sanctions and risk assessment processes in workplaces are evaluated in detail. In addition, the development of occupational health and safety culture, implementation of preventive measures and current issues related to labour law are analysed and students are provided with practical knowledge and skills.

| LO07 | Assesses the responsibilities of the state, employers and workers in the field of occupational health and safety, the effectiveness of the labour inspection system and the deterrence of criminal sanctions and develops suggestions for making the legislation more effective. |
