Course Goal / Objective
The objective of this course is to teach students the historical, economic, and social dimensions of transformations in the global economy, providing in-depth knowledge on topics such as globalization, trade, financial liberalization, digital economy, and economic crises. Students will analyze current issues such as the rise of emerging market economies, sustainable development, and environmental economic transformation to better understand their impact on the global economy. Additionally, the course aims to equip students with the skills to understand the dynamics of the global economy and predict future global economic developments.
Course Content
Historical processes of major transformations in the global economy, globalization and economic integration, trade and financial liberalization, rise of emerging market economies, digital economy and technological revolution, global labor market and employment shifts, economic crises and their global impacts, sustainable development and environmental economic transformation, changes in the global trade system and trade policies, evolution of the international financial system, differences and dynamics between developed and developing economies.
