Course Goal / Objective

In line with the topics specified in the content, it aims to integrate the expansionary and contractionary applications of monetary policy tools that ensure price stability by injecting a properly functioning monetary policy into the economic structure and tissue, according to the economic structure and process and system that will emerge and create a strong economic structure, discussing the understanding of a dependent, independent central bank that can banker commercial banks, and to be able to transfer the Monetary Political thought that controls and operates the money markets that will establish a properly functioning strong economic structure to practice.

Course Content

In the content of the monetary policy course, which is one of the most important tools of economic policy; Monetary theory and monetary policies examine how the amount of money in the country or changes in it will affect the general balances of the economy. Accordingly, monetary policy and toric contributions will be presented in order to achieve certain economic objectives such as full employment, price stability, economic growth, balance of payments balance, fairness in income distribution with the monetary theory of central banks supplying money to the economy, examining the effects of money in the economy. Supporting policies, such as fiscal policy, income policy, and economic policy decisions and the implementation of these decisions are included. As major topics; The subject, definition, content, politics and institutional structure of monetary theory and policy, the objectives and tools of economic policy and types of monetary policy, monetary policy selection and implementation delays in economic policy, monetary policies in classical economics, monetary policies in neo-classical economics, monetary policies in neo-classical economics, from antiquity to the Middle Ages, from the Middle Ages, mercantilism, mercantilism, physiocratic monetary policies, monetary policies in Keynesian economics, monetary policies in monetarist economics, monetary policies in post-Keynesian economics, monetary policies in neo-classical economics, monetary policies in neo-Keynesian economics and monetary policies in supply-side economics, regional, national, international and supranational monetary policy instruments, strategic and new monetary policies. In addition, the definition and functions of money, the historical development of the monetary system, money demand, money supply, the value of money, quantity theory, monetary theory and theoretical approaches to monetary policy, monetary policy rules, the problem of monetary instability, financial markets and institutions, financial markets and institutions and money and price instability, monetary policy strategies, inflation targeting developments in monetary policy implementation are examined.

Course Precondition

In order to develop the economic alphabet to master Monetary Theory and Policy and the readings related to them, it is necessary to reach a level that can understand, explain and interpret economic concepts such as introductory economics course, micro and macro course, economic policy course in order to learn the basic readings, concepts and definitions, policy and implementation results related to money.
