Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to provide architecture students with the awareness of recognizing and protecting the historical environment and spatial culture, as well as the ability to define and apply them.

Course Content

The content of the course includes socio-cultural and regional components affecting the characteristics of the traditional Turkish house, typological characteristics of the traditional Turkish house, the space unit of the Turkish house (Turkish room) and other spaces, space uses, characteristic plan and facade solutions and construction methods / styles / distribution of the Turkish house according to regions and regional differences / conservation problems and current usability.
