Course Goal / Objective

To be able to recognize control circuit elements and their working principles. To be able to learn starting, reversing direction, low voltage starting circuits in motors by using control circuit elements and to be able to make operational control with electric motors.

Course Content

Control input elements, control output elements, protection relays of electric motors, control of electric motors. Introduction to special circuit elements. Contactors, magnetic and thermal circuit breakers, electromagnetic elements, limit switches, pressure switches, time relays, thermostats and valves. Command and control characteristics of AC motors. Starting, stopping and braking of motors, change of direction of rotation, low voltage starting techniques. Analyzing motor speed control circuits.
