Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to teach students how to structure a research paper, express their ideas effectively in writing, and develop the necessary academic skills to support these ideas. The course also aims to provide students with: Techniques for paraphrasing, summarizing, and citing information from external sources; The ability to integrate these sources effectively into their academic writing.

Course Content

This course teaches students the stages of writing a research paper, the structural differences of various essay types, and the techniques required at each stage of writing. The course content includes: Drafting, writing introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions, Writing comparison, cause-effect, and argumentative essays, Using transitions, conjunctions, and structures for similarities and contrasts, Paraphrasing, summarizing, and citing techniques, Effective integration of source information into research papers.
