Course Goal / Objective
To understand the true nature of history, to investigate the possibility of the philosophy of history, to comprehend the birth and development of Islamic historiography in this sense
Course Content
The nature of history, its procedure and the formation of historical thought, the metaphysics of history, the possibility of historical philosophy, types of history, historiography in ancient times, historiography in ancient Greece and Rome, the birth and development of Islamic historiography, approaches to the Islamic historical procedure, the method of history of Ibn Khaldun, Kafiyeci, etc. , Mamluk historiography and schools, Ottoman historiography, historiography in modern times, the Annales school etc.
