Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to learn carbohydrate, lipid, protein and nucleic acid metabolism (construction and destruction) and associate it with the basic principles of bioenergetics, to associate metabolic pathways with each other, to understand and comprehend the basis of genetic information transfer, to learn how and by what means metabolic control and regulation in all metabolic events can be achieved, It is possible to use and apply live information in all areas that may be direct or indirect.
Course Content
In this course, principles of Bioenergetics, Glycolysis and degradation of hexoses, Citric acid cycle, Amino acid oxidation and urea production, Oxidative phosphorylation and photophosphorylation, Carbohydrate and lipid biosynthesis, DNA metabolism, RNA metabolism, Protein metabolism, Regulation of gene expression, Recombinant DNA technology and applications, Hormones and Vitamins topics are covered.
