Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the basic subjects and concepts of classical archeology.

Course Content

The definition, content and sources of archeology, ceramic with lower layers. It covers the first information about sculpture, relief, architecture and coin topics.

LO08 Learns temple plans and features and temple types according to column arrangement.
LO09 Learns the types and features of pillared streets, triumphal archs, aquaducts and water system elements.
LO10 Interprets the history, plans and architectural features of ancient theaters.
LO11 Explains the similarities and differences between Greek and Roman theaters.
LO12 Learns the architectural features of amphitheatre, odeon, bouleterion, pryteneion and gymnasion buildings.
LO13 Categorize the masonry and masonry techniques.
LO14 Explains block removal methods with clamps and dowels on block stones.
LO15 General evaluation of the courses done during the semester is done.
