Course Goal / Objective

The goal of the course is discussion of basic issues of the Neolithic period in southwest Asia, survey of key Neolithic sites in the region, and understanding of important economic and social changes during the 10th-7th millennia BC.

Course Content

This course covers changing environments and human adaptations during the late Pleistocene-early Holocene, where and how food production began in different parts of the Near East, social and cultural changes that resulted from food production.
