Course Goal / Objective
To analyse the systematic development process of theological thought in the first period of Islamic thought
Course Content
The factors affecting the emergence of theological thought; interpretation of religious texts and disagreements on some political issues; Islam's encounter with other religions and civilisations and translation movements; the issue of Imamat; Ru´yetullah; the emergence of the problem of destiny; developments after the Prophet on human freedom; the place of reason in Islam; the existence and unity of God
