Course Goal / Objective
Raw materials and alternative raw materials that may be used in the production of ceramic products. Preparing and firing glazes and bodies with different raw materials.
Course Content
Relationship among the raw material -temperature-product in ceramic technology . Glaze and clay body studies. Recipes of Earthenware; Stoneware; Sanitary Ware; Porcelain and Coating Materials. Ceramic body compositions from industrial solid wastes , body composition; methods of preparing the slip, plastic clay and granules. Glazing; Body-glaze relationship; The interlayer formation between the glaze and body and their significance. Glaze composition and calculations; Glaze features. Special glazes; Opaque; Matt; crackle; salt; luster; crystalline and Aventurine. Ceramic glaze compositions from industrial solid wastes. Color formation in ceramics; preparation and implementation of ceramic paint and glazes. Glaze defects and control methods.Different effects of the glazes on the different structure. Firing methods of ceramic glaze and body.
