Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the core principles of minimalism and installation art within the context of contemporary ceramic art. It also aims to deepen understanding of how minimalism can influence and streamline the creative process in ceramics, emphasizing the importance of form, space, and simplicity. Students will explore various installation art techniques that integrate ceramic elements with environmental and spatial considerations to create immersive experiences. Through lectures, hands-on workshops, and project-based learning, the course will equip students with the skills necessary to design and execute their own minimalist and installation art projects in ceramics, fostering a comprehensive understanding of these influential contemporary art movements
Course Content
This course delves into the fundamentals of minimalism and installation art within contemporary ceramic art. The course will explore how minimalism reflects in ceramics, focusing on simplicity and spatial usage in ceramic art. Students will learn how to integrate minimalist approaches into their design processes and discover the basics of installation art, including how to create large-scale art structures with ceramic materials. Theoretical knowledge will be supplemented with practical workshop sessions, allowing students to design and execute their own minimalist and installation projects. Additionally, the course will feature examples from contemporary ceramic artists, providing inspiration from their approaches.
