Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to teach the application principles of energy and exergy analysis in internal combustion engines.

Course Content

Basic information about thermodynamics; First Law of Thermodynamics, II. Law, Reversible and irreversibility, entropy and entropy generation, Classification of energy, exergy concepts, Physical and chemical exergy concepts, Calculation of exergy of liquid, gas and solid fuels, Exergy analysis and calculation of irreversibility in thermal and chemical processes
