Course Goal / Objective

The general aim of this course is to ensure that students recognize structural axis systems; identify steel structural elements such as steel columns, steel beams, steel purlins, steel braces, steel trusses, and steel connections; especially understand the relevant commands; comprehend the step-by-step construction of these elements; and achieve an understanding of modeling and analysis of steel structures using computer-aided programs.

Course Content

This course includes the introduction of steel structural elements and the examination of various connection details of these elements, as well as the modeling of steel structures, formed by assembling these elements with connections by using commands and their analysis in computer software.
