Course Goal / Objective

The general objectives of this course are as follows: To provide students with knowledge about the identification and classification of behavioral problems that can occur in early childhood. To learn about the problems seen in childhood, which they can often encounter while working with parents. To obtain information that should be transferred to parents independent of the behavior problem in the child. To learn intervention strategies that can be applied in behavioral problems seen in childhood.

Course Content

In this course, information is given about how to define behavioral problems in children. Questions that should be asked when discussing the parent with the child are explained in detail. Within the scope of parent education, information about setting limits, offering options, spending quality time with the child, playing together is explained. The causes of behavioral problems in children are emphasized. Behavioral problems are classified as those related to emotional development, behavioral development, and social development, and the problem area for each group is described in detail in how to work with the child and family in case of this problem.
