Course Goal / Objective
To gain basic information on hydrography, food cycle and production levels of coastal and wetland ecosystems, effects of pollution and climatic changes on coastal and wetland ecosystems to realize the problems of wetlands of Turkey,to know the measures to protect these environments, to gain information about monitoring studies.
Course Content
In this course, the hydrography of coastal areas and wetlands, nutrient cycle and aquatic production levels in coastal areas, biodiversity in coastal areas and wetlands, the effect of pollution and climate changes on coastal areas and wetland ecosystems are taught. The wetlands of Turkey and their problems, precautions for the protection of water quality and aquatic biodiversity, the importance of monitoring studies for water quality in coastal areas and wetlands are explained with examples.
