Course Goal / Objective
To know marine algae and their general properties and taxonomy, To gain basic information about important characteristics of marine algae used in taxonomic distinction To understand their role in marine production
Course Content
In this course taxonomy of marine algae, examination of marine algae according to taxonomic order, general features of groups and detailed examination of cell structure, reproduction and ecological distribution, characteristics used in taxonomic distinction of species are taught with theoretical lessons and laboratory practice , the role of algae in marine production and their relationships with higher trophic levels are taught and discussed.
