Course Goal / Objective

The general aim of this course is to provide pre-service teachers with information on basic concepts of nutrition, the importance of nutrition in early childhood, health problems related to nutrition, food preparation. In addition, it is to ensure that pre-service teachers have the necessary knowledge and practice skills to provide pre-school children with healthy eating habits and to present foods in different ways.

Course Content

Basic concepts of nutrition, nutrients and food groups, nutrition in early childhood, nutrition in atypical children, food allergies in children, food poisoning, nutritional errors, food preparation and points to be considered in food preparation, family participation studies in the process of gaining healthy eating habits for preschool children.
