Course Goal / Objective
The aim of the course is to teach the methods of analyzing films produced in the field of cinema through scientific methods. Students are expected to create the habit of watching films and to evaluate and discuss these films scientifically within the framework of cinematographic, narrative, structuralist, auteurist, historical, semiotic, psychoanalytic, sociological, philosophical, ideological, feminist, genre, dramaturgical approaches and to prepare and present written or audiovisual content.
Course Content
In the course, the main analysis methods in the history of cinema will be analyzed and discussed weekly with examples. Through question-answer and discussion activities, students will interpret films and present their intellectual theses based on different views.
