Course Goal / Objective

In this course, it is aimed to explain the historical development of sports media and journalism, the qualifications required by sports journalism today and to gain competence by practicing in this field.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course, students analyze the development of sports media, journalism and reporting as a business line in the world and in Turkey. Explain the traditional and modern principles of sports journalism in the context of print, audiovisual and new media. The development of sports is analyzed with its cultural, economic and political dimensions. Theoretical and technical knowledge on news writing, interview techniques, radio-podcasting, photography and program production are conveyed. At the end of the semester, students develop their practices of producing content, working individually and in groups in these areas.
