Course Goal / Objective
The purpose of this course is to focus on some basic principles that will help students continue to see the full picture in aquaculture while specializing in depth on some topics in their graduate education
Course Content
This course focus on some fundamental aspects of aquaculture such as the importance of aquaculture, its current status, water resources, aquaculture systems, water disinfection and sterilization techniques, pond types, cages, other aquaculture techniques, biofilters, aeration techniques, nutrients, water quality parameters and water quality management, nutrition, feeding strategies, energy, growth, feeding rates, fertilization and primary productivity, and methods of stimulating reproduction.
