Course Goal / Objective

To gain the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for the creation of experimental hypertension models

Course Content

Types of clinical hypertension and the mechanisms of their formation: A) extracellular fluid-induced experimental hypertension models in rats: a) Subtotal nephrectomy-salt hypertension; b) DOCA-salt hypertension, c) One kidney- one clip salt hypertension; B) Hypertension model in rats with increased renin: two kidney- one clip (Goldblatt) hypertension; application of surgical procedures which are related to the models, measurement of hemodynamic values in animals and discussion of the mechanism of development of hypertension
