Course Goal / Objective

To comprehend the importance and contribution of child health and diseases nursing in preventive health services in Turkey within the scope of Basic Health Services. To give the child the ability to know the growth and development process and the theories about growth and development, to recognize and evaluate the factors that affect this process positively or negatively. The importance of the healthy growth and development of the child, types and the necessary intervention skills in the problems arising from nutritional disorders. To provide student nurses with the ability to monitor and research scientific and technological developments, along with planning, implementation and evaluation of appropriate interventions for the health problems they detect in children and families. To understand the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and relationships in Child Health and Diseases Nursing and to gain the principle of providing integrity.

Course Content

It includes a holistic approach in nursing care by examining normal growth and development characteristics and health deviations in children from birth to adolescence (0-18 years of age).

Course Precondition

Being successful in the Child Health and Diseases Nursing course is the prerequisite of the course.
