Course Goal / Objective

At the beginning of their environmental engineering education, students' understanding of climate change, which is the most important environmental event in the world, and understanding the importance of environmental engineering in this field are the main objectives of our course.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, firstly, the difference between the concepts of weather, climate and climate change is explained. Then, the relationship between climate change and greenhouse gases is revealed with historical data. The greenhouse effect of greenhouse gases is defined and their contribution to climate change is explained. Each student is expected to calculate their own carbon footprint and reflect on the reduction and put forward an implementation plan. All institutions and agreements related to national and international climate change are explained with historical flow, and the responsibilities and commitments of our country are examined and what needs to be done for the future are discussed.
