Course Goal / Objective

To provide students with historical awareness in accordance with the content of the course by enabling them to learn the events and results of the world political history and, accordingly, Turkish political history, starting from the 18th century, from an academic point of view.

LO01 Learns and explains the chronological developments of the modern political history in the world and national scale.
LO02 Learns the general situation of the powerful and effective big states in the World Political History in the Modern Age.
LO03 Gains knowledge and explains the causes of the two great world wars that took place in the first half of the 20th century and the new structures that occurred before and after the war.
LO04 Knows and explains that political, social, ideological and economic developments in a certain part of the world will affect the whole world in a short time in the Modern Age.
LO05 Learns and explains that the developments affecting the Near Age are the result of Eurocentric revolutions, ideological goals and technological developments.
LO06 Learns that it is extremely important for humanity that the rulers of countries produce peaceful and conciliatory policies in international relations.
LO07 After the second half of the 20th century, with the Cold War period of the countries that led the world, the USA. and the Soviet Union knows and explains.
LO08 Learns and explains the main objectives of the Ottoman State and Turkey's domestic and foreign policy in the modern era.
LO09 Knows and explains that the foundations of Turkey's domestic and foreign policy, which it has implemented and targeted since its establishment, were determined during the Atatürk Period.
LO10 Knows and explains that a country's own national interests are the most fundamental element in international relations.
