Course Goal / Objective
To teach the effects of genetic variations on drug responses and the principles of pharmacogenetics. By understanding how genetic variations affect drug metabolism, students will gain the ability to provide more effective and safe treatment options to patients.
Course Content
The role of pharmacogenetics in variability in drug response, Genomic basis of pharmacogenetics, Ethnic and race-specific polymorphism, Pharmacogenetic studies.
Course Precondition
none
Resources
1. Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (Katzung), 2. The Pharmacologıcal Basıs of Therapeutıcs (Goodman and Gilman), 3. Akılcıl Tedavi Yönünden Tıbbi Farmakoloji, Editör: Prof. Dr. S. Oğuz Kayaalp
