Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is generally to process the process that started with the curiosity of man from the past to the present with the sense of understanding and learning the universe, with the understanding of the scientific method. To discuss the relations of man with science and the developments in science up to the present and their effects on human life in a philosophical dimension with the students in integrity with its current structure, and to provide a different dimension to the master's and doctoral studies by making use of this to comprehend the subject that the students are studying in integrity. It is also to make the person comprehend the scientific perspective on scientific life and events.

Course Content

From the process of human being to the present day, understanding nature and the changes that occur in nature are processed within a systematic perspective. Developments from agricultural tools in the early ages to today's information society, advances in science in different periods and cultures and their dynamics are processed. Scientific developments in the ancient, medieval, Renaissance, Islamic and Ottoman periods and the reflections of the science-human relationship on the Republican period and today are processed. The development of humanity in science and technology has brought about the understanding of the philosophy of science and the history of science and the processing of the stage it has taken until today. It is important to learn the past and philosophy of science history to access information and think scientifically.
