Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to understand the basic concepts and their properties in the learning areas of numbers, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability, to discuss the relationships between these concepts mathematically and to integrate them effectively into the teaching process by transforming them into each other with multiple representations. In addition, in line with the aims and principles of mathematics teaching, to analyze the connection of these concepts with the middle school mathematics curriculum and to develop pedagogical approaches.
Course Content
fractions, operations with fractions, decimal notation, percentages, factors and multiples, sets, whole numbers, operations with whole numbers, rational numbers, operations with rational numbers, ratio, ratio and proportion, exponents, square roots, algebraic expressions, equality and equation, linear equations, algebraic expressions and identities, inequality; the relationship between these concepts, the discussion of mathematical concepts and their transformation into each other with multiple representations, and the relationship of these subjects with the aims, principles and secondary school mathematics program. Geometry, statistics and probability in the mathematics program, learning areas (basic geometric concepts and drawings, triangles and quadrilaterals, triangles, measuring length and time, measuring area, geometric objects, angles, lines and angles, circle, circle and circle, liquid measurement, transformation geometry, polygons, views of objects from different directions, basic concepts and properties of the topics (similarity and similarity, data collection and evaluation, data analysis, probability of simple events), the relationship between these concepts, discussion of mathematical concepts and their transformation into each other with multiple representations, and the relationship of these topics with the aims, principles and secondary school mathematics curriculum.
