Course Goal / Objective
It is expected that students will be able to numerically model magmatic processes in petrology using geochemical (whole-rock and isotopic) data.
Course Content
Introduction and Definitions: Petrological Processes: partial melting, fractional crystallization, assimilation fractional crystallization (AFC), binary-ternary component mixtures. Modeling Techniques and Limitations: major-trace elements, applications of radiogenic and stable isotopes.
