Course Goal / Objective
Understanding occupational safety in the garment industry from fabric to shipment
Course Content
The importance of occupational health and safety. Analysis of environmental conditions in production. Garment transfer printing machines, octopus printing machines, washing and drying machines, laser machines and robot technologies and occupational safety in apparel production. CAD/CAM systems and occupational safety. Physical (noise, vibration, light, thermal comfort, dust, etc.), chemical, mechanical, psychosocial and workplace-related hazards in leather apparel and shoe factories. Chemicals used in the sector, the effects of the chemicals used, the health problems they cause and the precautions to be taken. Occupational safety in machines used such as hydraulic presses, sawmills, vertical blade cutting machines. Use of personal protective equipment. Occupational diseases and precautions to be taken in occupational diseases. Ergonomics and its role in preventing occupational accidents. Precautions to be taken for fires that may occur during the production process. Social compliance assessments within the scope of sustainability and their effects on employees.
