Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to develop knowledge, understanding, and a research perspective regarding the process of fostering social and emotional competence in early childhood; in addition, it aims to explore current approaches within the growing literature on resilience.

Course Content

The course content includes the following: the process of acquiring social and emotional competence in early childhood, the skills leading to competence, assessment of social and emotional competence, academic social-emotional learning (CASEL), review of current research, the historical background of resilience from past to present, risk and protective factors, ways of developing resilience, and programs aimed at fostering resilience."
