Course Goal / Objective

The course aims to enable students to support interior space designs in a digital environment through three-dimensional representation, to model volume, proportion, scale, and material/color/texture relationships using SketchUp at a basic level, to visualize design ideas digitally, and to use digital modeling effectively as a tool for design thinking, presentation, and communication.

Course Content

The role and function of digital modeling in interior architecture; introduction to the SketchUp software interface; basic tools and commands; transferring fundamental geometric forms into digital environment; drawing planes and alignment techniques; three-dimensional modeling of scale, volume, and proportion relationships; modeling of interior space components; use of tools for generating views, perspectives, and sections; methods for adding materials, colors, and textures; basic space modeling exercises; presentation of digital models and techniques for exporting them to other compatible software platforms.
