Course Goal / Objective

Understand the historical evolution and theoretical foundations of U.S. foreign policy since World War II; Examine U.S. foreign policy decision-making structures and strategies during the Cold War and post-Cold War eras; Analyze how domestic politics, ideology, and international power structures influence U.S. foreign policy; Develop critical thinking and analytical skills to assess U.S. responses to global crises, interventions, and challenges; Foster a deeper understanding of the United States’ role in shaping the current and future international order.

Course Content

This course examines the evolution of American foreign policy from the end of World War II to the present day. It explores the United States’ emergence as a global superpower, its Cold War strategies, post-Cold War policies, and its role in shaping the current international order.
