Course Goal / Objective

The course, which is fundamentally based on teaching the birth and development of Modern Türkiye, aims to provide accurate information about the Atatürkist Thought System, the history of the Republic of Turkey, and the threats to Turkey and its implementation; to educate and strengthen Turkish youth in line with the Atatürkist Thought System, within an indivisible unity with its country, nation, and state, and to unite them around national goals; and to cultivate individuals who are rational, contemporary, honorable, hardworking, filled with love for their country and nation, and possess a personality comprised of tolerance and humanitarian ideas.

Course Content

The concept of revolution; factors that led to the Turkish Revolution and the reasons for the collapse of the Ottoman Empire; efforts to save the Ottoman Empire; intellectual movements; World War I; Mustafa Kemal's passage to Anatolia and the Congresses; the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly; the War of Independence; foreign policy; the Mudanya Armistice; the Lausanne Conference.
