Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to provide an understanding of the physical and chemical properties of bitumen, bitumen characterization techniques, bitumen performance, and the design and performance characteristics of bituminous mixtures.
Course Content
This course covers fundamental information on bitumen and hot bituminous mixtures; the conventional and rheological properties of bitumen; test methods applied to bitumen and bituminous mixtures; as well as the design, performance evaluation, and production of hot mix asphalt.
